Set in 38 acres of breathtaking countryside on the Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire border, Common Leys Farm is a Grade II-listed Tudor property offering a choice of award-winning bed and breakfast or self-catering accommodation.
The home of Allie and Doug Cherry, Common Leys remains a working farm so you’ll see their rare breed animals grazing in the surrounding fields. The meat, eggs, fruit, herbs and vegetables used to create the dishes on the breakfast and restaurant menus are sourced from the farm itself.
Guests can enjoy a variety of fun, outdoor activities on site, including clay pigeon shooting, falconry, grass karting and archery, making it the perfect venue for a trip away with friends. Allie ad Doug’s homegrown/reared produce is available in the fantastic on site farm shop, and their restaurant is also self-sufficient.
The farmhouse, which overlooks an area of ancient woodland known as Waterperry Woods, and the characterful period farm buildings are set around an attractive central courtyard area.
The characterful farmhouse has four large guest bedrooms, which are available on a bed and breakfast basis, and three large reception rooms for guests to enjoy.
Original beams, wood burners and open fireplaces create a cosy feel, and the property has been furnished in an eclectic style, with lots of quirky accessories and finishing touches. There’s a well-stocked bar and a baby grand piano.
In the courtyard, there are four lodges, each sleeping two people, and a cottage with accommodation set over two floors, which sleeps four people, which are available on a self-catering basis.
It’s best to discuss your requirements at the time of booking to determine which of the accommodation on offer would suit you best.
As well as the shop, restaurant and outdoor activities, the farm also has its own campsite.
The wide range of meals and snacks on offer includes everything from afternoon tea with homemade scones to evening meals and Allie’s fabulous Sunday roasts. If you’d like evening meals, please ask at the time of booking.
Choosing which of the gorgeous accommodation options to stay in may prove tricky; there’s a room with a four poster bed and others have freestanding roll top or copper baths. All rooms have Egyptian cotton bed linen; luxury toiletries; a choice of refreshments, including fresh filter coffee; free, wireless internet access; and a flat screen television.
