If you’re planning your first boutique break of 2015, you’re in for a treat! We now have an even greater choice of boutique B&Bs, luxury self-catering accommodation, restaurants with rooms and super stylish inns than ever before. Say hello to our new arrivals…

Callater Lodge Luxury B&B, Braemar, Aberdeenshire, ScotlandCallater Lodge is an attractive stone property in the village of Braemar, Aberdeenshire, which was once a shooting lodge built for a wealthy young gentleman. In keeping with its origins, it remains a cosy and welcoming retreat at the heart of the stunningly beautiful Cairngorms National Park, but these days it’s a stylish, four star-rated guest house. The surrounding countryside is a mecca for fans of outdoor adventure, not to mention one of Scotland’s premier areas for wildlife conservation. Locally you can enjoy everything from walking and golf to shooting, stalking and fishing, as well as skiing and snowboarding at nearby Glenshee.

7 Longport 7 Longport Boutique B&B & Cottages, Canterbury, Kentis a bijou, boutique bolthole tucked away in a peaceful, leafy courtyard close to the centre of Canterbury. Offering bed and breakfast accommodation, it’s an oasis of calm that’s not far off the beaten track for those who wish to explore the city’s attractions. Two equally delightful cottages on the other side of the garden wall each sleep five people on a B&B or self-catering basis. This area of Kent has a growing reputation among foodies and there are 300 places to eat and drink in Canterbury alone. Top attractions include the magnificent Cathedral; St Augustine’s Abbey and St Martin’s Church – a World Heritage Site due to its status as the birthplace of Christianity in England; and Canterbury Tales, where you can experience the sights – and smells – of Chaucer’s Canterbury.

Old Whyly (above), a Grade II-listed Georgian Manor house offering boutique bed and breakfast accommodation with the option of dinner in the evenings, makes an idyllic country retreat. Located in the heart of East Sussex close to the towns of Lewes and Brighton, it’s just ten minutes from Glyndebourne, home of the annual Opera Festival. Larger parties can choose to have Old Whyly to themselves for an entire weekend. The owner, Sarah, and her team will be there to tend to your every whim, whether it be another bottle of champagne or a scrumptious Sunday Lunch.
