Although we always stick closely to our ’boutique’ criteria when considering new properties to feature on the website, it’s pleasing to be able to offer a range of accommodations types to suit all tastes. In the last couple of weeks alone, we’ve welcomed to the website a tranquil boutique B&B offering self-contained accommodation in the heart of the New Forest National Park; a super chic townhouse in the centre of Bath offering luxurious self-catering accommodation for up to ten guests; and a cosy inn on the edge of Dartmoor National Park offering a boutique sleep and dine option. Here they are…
The Dartmoor Inn has just three cosy guest bedrooms, a restaurant where you can enjoy award-winning food made with fresh, seasonal ingredients and a bar serving local ales. It’s located in the peaceful village of Lydford on the western fringes of Dartmoor National Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Lydford is best known for its spectacular gorge and the 30-metre ‘White Lady’ waterfall, but the village also boasts a 12th century church and a medieval castle. All three are within walking distance of The Dartmoor Inn. Dartmoor is a rugged landscape punctuated by granite tors, deep wooded valleys, fast flowing rivers and vast open spaces. Not surprisingly, the area is a mecca for nature lovers, as well as outdoor enthusiasts as it offers everything from pony trekking to great opportunities for walking and cycling.
Tucked away down a leafy lane in the heart of the New Forest National Park, The Garden Room at Furze Cottage offers self-contained bed and breakfast accommodation for up to four people. A stay at the Garden Room is like retreating to your own private woodland hideaway, where you can immerse yourself in nature and truly get away from it all. As you drift off into a blissful sleep, the only sounds you’ll hear are owls hooting and the occasional nightjar calling. In the morning, you’ll wake up to the enchanting sights and sounds of the forest, and breathe in the fresh sea air (the south coast is just a stone’s throw away). The Garden Room at Furze Cottage is located in the ancient village of Pilley just outside the attractive Georgian market town and sailing resort of Lymington. At Lymington you can hop aboard a ferry and sail over to the Isle of Wight for a day trip.
1 Hot Bath Street is one of five amazing properties owned by Bath Boutique Stays featured on the website and we love the fact that they’re all instantly recognisable because they share the same sleek and funky contemporary style. All sensitively refurbished period properties with heaps of character, they’re situated in enviable locations throughout the centre of the historic city of Bath. 1 Hot Bath Street is the newest addition to the family and is a Georgian townhouse offering luxurious self-catering accommodation for up to ten people (12 if you make use of the super-comfy sofa bed). If you’re planning on visiting the city’s world-famous Thermae Spa, you won’t find a handier spot – it’s literally a minute’s walk away! The Roman Baths, the new five-star Gainsborough Bath Spa Hotel, and the shops, bars, restaurants and other attractions on offer in the city centre are within easy reach too. In fact, the iconic Royal Crescent – one of the most stunning examples of Bath’s renowned Georgian architecture – is just 500 metres away.
We think you’ll love what you see.
