Domaine de la Ponche is a beautiful 18th Century Provençal Bastide with views across a valley of vineyards to the rocky outcrops of Les Dentelles de Montmirail beyond. Refurbished with stylish aplomb it is held as a family house, regularly visited by the owners with their children and grandchildren. Re-opened as a Bed & Breakfast in 2018 it retains a very personal charm; Luisa Pires, who takes care of the house and its guests, greets you with a warm welcome, making you feel instantly at home and relaxed, ready to enjoy a magical holiday in the quiet countryside of Provence.
La Ponche offers six spacious bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and seating areas; open fireplaces and house heating throughout ensures year-round comfort and there is also a small in-house gym. With an exceptional eye for detail, the grand salon and dining room with its tower feature, have been designed to form an ambience of pure theatre. The house then opens onto a flower festooned pergola, where a perfect summer dining terrace has been created.
The gardens are a particular feature, beautifully designed to allow guests the pleasure of relaxing outdoors. Shaded by mature trees, a natural spring forms a gentle fountain that flows into a cool, reflecting bassin and lily pond. There is a stone lined heated swimming pool (10m x 6m) with well planned seating around and an au-vent dining area.
The local village of Vacqueyras has restaurants, shops and a Cave du Vin and guests have free access to the tennis court in the village, Club de Vacqueyras.
Nearby, you can enjoy a lovely walk in the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail just above Gigondas (5-10 minute drive) and take in the wonderful views on the Vaucluse. There are a plethora of wine producers in the region for tastings and tours and a trip to the delightful riverside town of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, known for its antique stores and weekend markets, is highly recommended.
The six provençal-styled bedrooms are absolutely beautiful and offer spacious accommodation perfect for families/groups but also for couples and friends.
Every room has a private bathroom and all are furnished with a king size bed; an additional bed can be placed in any of the rooms on request.
There is a coffee machine and tea making facilities in each room.

Five of the bedrooms are evenly priced at 290 Euros per night based on two people sharing.
The sixth and bigger Tower Room is priced at 310 Euros per night based on two people sharing.
