Once a 19th century coaching inn, The Coach House has been transformed into five-star gold rated B&B offering accommodation and customer service of such a high standard that visitors return time and time again.
It’s located in the historic town of Brecon in the heart of the 500-square mile Brecon Beacons National Park, an area of immense natural beauty that’s also known for its unique culture, heritage and fantastic food. The area is a magnet for walkers, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts. It’s also one of only a few places in the world to have been granted Dark Sky Status because there’s no light pollution; it’s perfect for star gazing! UNESCO has designated the area a Geo Park because its geological features are of international importance.
If you’re celebrating a special occasion, cake, flowers or a bottle of bubbly can be provided for you in your room. Tables at local restaurants, theatre tickets and taxis can be booked for you to help you make the most of your stay in Brecon.
The Coach House’s metamorphosis into a stylish townhouse offering modern B&B accommodation was masterminded by owners Tony Morris-Davies and Marc Hopkins. The two friends had the vision of creating a boutique B&B where guests could enjoy first class customer service and all the comforts of home – in other words a very Welsh ‘croeso’ (welcome).
Snacks and light evening meals are available, and a choice of alcoholic beverages can be served in the guest lounge.
The attractive garden is a peaceful space, where you can enjoy a drink before dinner or relax with a book.
The six en suite guest bedrooms and suites are decorated in a light and airy palette of neutral shades, creating a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. They all feature Egyptian cotton bed linen; top quality soft furnishings from Welsh company Melin Tregwynt; super fast free, wireless internet access; flatscreen televisions with on-demand movies; tea and coffee-making facilities; bottled water; and iPod docking stations.
The smart en suite bath and shower rooms have sleek white fixtures and fittings; top quality bathing products; and fluffy towels.
There are double, king and super king-sized room options, as well as the top of the range Mini Suite, which also benefits from a Sonos music system, a coffee machine and a large walk-in shower, as well as a bath.
Prices range from £80 to £160 per night for a double room or suite, or from £68 for single occupancy of a double room.
The Coach House has received a number of awards and commendations for the quality of its breakfast menu, which features a staggering 15 different dishes! The ingredients used to prepare your meal are locally-sourced and organic wherever possible. The menu is peppered with tempting Welsh specialities, including a traditional Welsh breakfast, Welsh rarebit and bacon with Welsh cockles. Lighter options include smoked salmon bagels, warm croissants or fresh fruit and organic yogurt.
