The Coach House Boutique B&B really is a superb find – and it’s not just that it is home to a wonderfully exclusive spa area! The property is perfectly placed to offer solitude, whilst at the same time easy connections to some of the most popular tourist attractions in the world. With a view that takes in the River Lagan as it gently wends its way to Belfast and on out into the Irish Sea you can begin to get a sense of the countryside that you may recognise from the small screen. As with several other key locations in the North of Ireland, these undulating hills have provided backdrops for much of Westeros in HBO’s global smash hit drama, Game of Thrones.

The property has been lovingly prepared for guests, with two rooms en suite to choose from. Every effort has gone into ensuring that your stay will be both stylish and comfortable, complete with fluffy slippers and robes for your comfort. Should the feeling take you, guests are invited to use the beautiful grand piano in the drawing room.

Northern Ireland really is packed with world class attractions and facilities – and The Coach House is in prime position for you to make the most of your time there. Not only are you 90 minutes from the Irish capital city of Dublin, but you are 25 minutes from Northern Ireland’s capital, Belfast. Belfast has transformed in the last two decades and attracts visitors from all over the globe for many diverse reasons. The birthplace of the Titanic, Belfast is home to the Titanic Experience which not only captures the human stories behind the ship, but it also perfectly represents the zeitgeist of a time long gone. Take a trip along the North Antrim coast to go even further back in time and feel the sea spray on your face as you take in one of the world’s most fascinating geographical quirks – the Giant’s Causeway – before popping into the Bushmills Distillery for a quick dram.

The Coach House Boutique B&B is owned by Sharon and Andrew Tinsley. With two individually designed and decorated rooms, you will be able to unwind, relax and take a break from the hectic pace of everyday life. Both rooms have en suite facilities and are detached from the main house so that guests can have the space and privacy they want while remaining within easy reach of the drawing room in the main house. The drawing room has comfortable sofas from which you can take in views of the rose terrace, or alternatively you can simply relax in front of the flames from the open log fire.

The garden is an important element of the Coach House and offers a refuge at all times of the year. While daffodils and tulips create a riot of Spring colour, the David Austin roses offer a stunning location for guests to enjoy afternoon tea as they take in the view over the Lagan Valley.  If you enjoy gentle exercise, neighbouring fields offer walks that take you down to the banks of the River Lagan, or you may prefer to walk around the lake in Hillsborough Forest Park. Hillsborough is a beautiful nearby village that’s home to some of the best restaurants in the area as well as Hillsborough Castle, the Queen’s Northern Irish residence.

The Coach House Boutique B&B has many features that sets it apart from other accommodation, including a locally sourced organic breakfast that will get you ready for a day’s exploring. It is the wonderful outdoor heated spa area however, that transforms this stunning B&B into an amazing secret bolthole that you will not want to share with people. With a fully heated pavillion in which you are able to get changed, the outdoor spa allows you to look out over the valley for the ultimate in luxury relaxation.

The Coach House is the go-to property for those who are looking for luxury and comfort in a location that is surrounded by nature. What also makes the Coach House special is, of course, the bedrooms. With only two rooms on offer, you can be sure that the Coach House won’t ever feel too crowded or busy.

The rooms are named Amarylis and Clementine and they both offer en suite facilities. As with the design and construction of the house itself, just as much care and attention has gone into the décor and guest facilities.

Owners, Sharon and Andrew have ensured that the rooms have been furnished ‘of the time’, and so both rooms sport antiques from the Edwardian period. While capturing the essence of period times however, your hosts understand that guests need modern luxuries so both rooms have a flat screen Sony television, free high speed WiFi and a Nespresso coffee machine, as well as tea making facilities and homemade sweet treats.  If you prefer something cooler, there is also a mini fridge with complimentary soft drinks and water.

Sharon and Andrew have taken great care to ensure that the bathrooms are all beautifully decorated and have opted to use marble to give that little extra touch of luxury, while the Amarylis has a stunning bath with period shower enclosure. With luxury, fluffy slippers and robes on offer, Reylon pocket sprung beds and Egyptian cotton bed linens, guests can luxuriate in the hosts’ attention to detail and comfort.

Guests’ privacy and comfort is key to the Coach House experience, which is why the Coach House will be exclusively yours during your stay and you are free to come and go as you wish.

Prices for The Coach House range from £100-150 per room per night.

A locally-sourced, organic and freshly prepared breakfast is served in the dining room of the main house. The bountiful breakfast offers both a buffet and local produce that you just won’t find anywhere else in the world.

The buffet includes fresh fruit, homemade Bircher muesli and yoghurt pot with seasonal fruit compote, cereals, juices, local butter and preserves along with homemade Irish wheaten bread. Cooked breakfasts include local sweet cured bacon, award winning local sausages, Irish soda and potato bread. The Coolsallagh Smash must be tried – Irish wheaten bread with avocado, smoked salmon and a free range poached egg!

To add to the dining experience, your sumptuous breakfast is served on fine china, accompanied by sterling silver cutlery and Waterford crystal glassware.

    Your say...

Everything about our stay was A1! The accommodation was truly superb with attention to detail hard to find even in top quality London hotels. The family were most welcoming and excelled in every area to make us most welcome. Breakfast was fit for a King with plenty of choice and perfectly cooked and served. Fantastic scenery too, I wish our first trip to Northern Ireland had been longer but next time The Coach House will certainly have our business. Truly amazing!
