The stylish Novecento Boutique Hotel is tucked away in Calle del Dose, off Campo San Maurizio, in the City of Venice, between St. Mark’s Square and the Accademia Gallery.  Novecento offers guests very special boutique bed and breakfast accommodation and the chance to stay enveloped in an evocative atmosphere, created by a décor steeped in Orientalism and a passion for exquisite materials and fabrics, in one of the most iconic cities in the world.

Owned by the charming and enthusiastic Romanelli family, who have worked in hotellerie for over half a century, the family have mastered the hospitality craft since the 60s when Diana and Alessandro, together with their son Ruggero, first started.  In 2002, Gioele, Ruggero’s son, together with his wife Heiby, realized that contemporary hotels should provide an experience more than just a “beautiful bedroom with restroom”. With this in mind, they opened the Novecento, a small luxury hotel, ethnic-chic in style, that offered to its visitors a more authentic and contemporary experience.

Original furniture and tapestries from both the Mediterranean world and the Far East give the Novecento’s nine rooms an exclusive and refined character. Influenced by the style of the early 1900s, the hotel draws its main inspiration from Mariano Fortuny, a painter, fashion designer and scenographer, known for his ability to experiment in all areas of art, who moved to Venice in 1889.

With a desire to give guests a special welcome, provide impeccable service, wrapped up in elegant exoticism, with the most up-to-date facilities – Novecento Boutique Hotel has become a haven for those seeking the ever-so-slightly bohemian side of Venice.

The city of theatre, mirrors and illusion!  Brimming with magnificent architecture, restaurants and cafes, artisan and designer shops, romantic gondola rides and boat trips down The Grand Canal, Venice is a crazy amazing city that you just have to see to believe!

Novecento Boutique Hotel is a fascinating fusion of mediterranean and oriental interior furnishings, ideally located, down a quiet side street, in the central San Marco district of Venice, minutes from all the top tourist hotspots.

From the outside, the property is typically Venetian, on the inside refreshingly different.  The nine bedrooms are each one an individual canvas, intended to be not only beautiful, but interesting, enticing and emotionally provocative.  The cosy living room has an honesty bar where guests can help themselves to a drink at any time of day, read a book from the library, play table games or simply relax and listen to music.  There is also a sweet little internal courtyard where breakfast is served in warm weather.

San Marco is an excellent location and one of the most popular with visitors, with all the many cultural and historical sites of the city within walking distance including: La Fenice Opera House, St. Mark’s Square, the Palazzo Grassi, Correr Civic Museum, St. Mark’s Basilica and Doge’s Palace.

Novecento is a truly inspired bed and breakfast, the Romanelli family have put their heart and soul into making this a unique b&b in Venice, so you won’t forget where you’ve stayed in one of the world’s most remarkable cities.

Attractive, enveloping, a mixture of multi-ethnic furniture circa 1900, or designed by Italian artists and stylists; the Novecento’s nine bedrooms are intentionally evocative.

Walls are rag-rolled or silk-hung, cotton drapes and curtains have been made up by a local factory to the Romanelli family’s own designs.  Floors are original Venetian marble or wood with carpets collected from travels in Morocco. Some rooms have romantic four-poster beds, while others can be made up as twins.

Ensuites come in the form of compact shower bathrooms where you will find Philippe Starck-designed fittings, big-headed showers, hairdryers and divine Ortigia toiletries. There’s also the option of soothing piped music from a selection that includes jazz, Arabian, classical and opera.

Best Room Rate is guaranteed when you book directly with Novecento Boutique Hotel – please call with your enquiry or book online via the hotel’s official website.

We do not know if a recipe for happiness really exists, but we are sure that Novecento’s breakfast with homemade products, served in the intimate and secluded internal courtyard, in the warm winter sun, or in the refreshing shade in summer, is maybe the best way to start your day in Venice.

A sweet and savoury buffet offers natural and simple homemade products directly from the market.  Homemade cakes and pies are served with typical Italian coffee traditionally made using fresh milk and top quality toasted coffee beans. What else do you need to feel happy?
