The Old Rectory offers stylish and elegant bed and breakfast accommodation in the quaint and picturesque Old Town of Hastings, East Sussex.
It’s located on the edge of the beautiful Old Town at the top of All Saints Street, one of Hastings’ original medieval thoroughfares. The independent, quirky shops and boutiques, which line the cobbled roads of the Old Town, are just a short walk away. The Old Rectory is also just a five-minute walk from the fishing harbour, pebbled beach and the beautiful 660-acre East Hill Country Park, which is draped along this stretch of coastline.
An attractive period house, it has a large, mature walled garden, where guests can enjoy the sunshine or indulge in al fresco drinks. It is licensed for weddings and civil unions, and private dining and house parties can also be catered for.
Owners Lionel Copley and Lindsay Wright have artistically transformed the interior of The Old Rectory into an elegant and tranquil haven decorated in soft and soothing shades of blue and grey. There are two comfortable lounge areas with large, squishy sofas, where guests can kick back and relax in front of a roaring log fire.
The team offer an attentive and personal service, ensuring that your stay is a truly memorable and relaxing experience. The Old Rectory was named the area’s Best Start-up Business (1066 – 2011) and has quickly attracted fantastic reviews and established a reputation as one of the finest B&Bs in the region.
The high standard of the decor, and luxurious but wonderfully eclectic fittings and fixtures, give the nine bedrooms an opulent feel; guests will love the fabulously quirky finishing touches.
Each of the intriguingly-named bedrooms has its own unique style and theme, as well as a luxury en suite bathroom with either a shower or bath, or both. The comfortable beds are dressed in quality, Egyptian cotton bedding, and luxurious down duvets and pillows, and cotton robes are provided. Each room has a flat-screen television with DVD player and guests can access an extensive DVD library. Local telephone calls can be made free of charge and there’s also free wireless internet access. All of the rooms are non-smoking.
Prices for each of the nine double rooms range from £110 to £155 per night. Doubles are available for single occupancy for between £90 and £115 per night.
After a comfortable night’s sleep, guests can wake up to a delicious, organic breakfast freshly prepared from the finest, locally-sourced ingredients, some of which are even home grown.
Served in the exquisitely decorated dining room, the dairy products come from Northiam Dairy in Rye, the free range Lohmann Hen eggs are from Catsfield, and the bacon and sausages from Archers of Westfield. The kippers and home-smoked salmon are from Rock-a-Nore fisheries in Hastings Old Town.
The Old Rectory is licensed to host weddings and civil unions. Ceremonies can take place in the elegant lounge or on the terrace within the delightful garden. It can cater for up to 50 guests with a wedding reception within the house or 80 guests with a Capri Marquee in the walled garden.
